Lavender

The flowers as well as the green of this plant are edible. It is not being used in the kitchen very frequently yet, but chefs are discovering tons of surprising and delicious uses for this plant in the kitchen. Great in salads, meat dishes, but also desserts, chocolate and tea.
For lavender you can consume both leafs and flowers, as our variety is ‘edible’. The flowers are a very typical as “Provencal herbs” from France. The flowers are, whether or not dried, used to flavor all kinds of products such as cheeses or vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, … You can also make lavender tea and lavender syrup. This syrup is then processed in cakes and chocolates. Lavender is also very good in desserts, lovely in a cream brulé.
